InvestorPlace
Reviews and Complaints
Not a legitimate publication
- - They say Investor Place journalists are paid to write negative stock articles, selling their soul.
- - Articles are poorly written and lack insight.
Impartiality is at the heart of all good journalism. Every real journalist knows that.
At Investor Place they are actually paid to write negative articles about certain stocks, and in doing so are selling their soul and losing what little credibility they might think they have. The articles themselves are poorly written and lack any form of insight or intelligence.
The writers (for want of a better word) just come off as uneducated and amateurish, and surely they cannot see this as their future when they have no idea at all about how to write an informed, and knowledgeable piece. Nobody takes them seriously and my sincere advice would be to either close their doors and take up knitting, or at least try to behave in a professional manner and no longer be at the beck and call of anyone looking for a hit job.
- Terrible reporting
Preferred solution: Apology
User's recommendation: Ignore this publication.

Poor performance!!
2 2 worBought Power Portfolio 1 yr ago based upon their marketing, "so called past performance, and marketing". Luckily only dove into a couple of their recommendations, not all 10 as suggested.
I reviewed the portfolio today and out of 10 suggestions, only 1 of their picks is profitable showing an 8% gain. I have cancelled my subscription, when asked why......my response was why would I invest in another yr of poor performing recommendations? Bottom line is LESSON LEARNED!
I took a chance on a $2k product vs a couple other subscriptions I have that cost me literally a couple hundred $$ per yr and are far superior and have consistently performed much better. My recommendation, STAY AWAY FROM INVESTOR PLACE!!
User's recommendation: 2 words........"DO NOT!!!"
Always posting false article not factual
posting less facts and editors are giving bad facts about the company not the truth...read more and know your investments better
User's recommendation: always read more ... dont trust just their article... read more facts and not just by their editor.. their editors post unfactual information... Like the guy Farooq, posting some false i for regarding a company ...

Verified ReviewerResolved: Lots of inconsistencies in recommendations from advisors
This is a review only. I am not requesting anything..
I have subscribed to InvestorPlace over a year. I thought the recommendations were great.
Matt made it very clear investments were to be made with long term thinking. In Oct 2021, I see that their cannabis portfolio has been 90% sold after holding for 2 years and at a loss. They are now marketing computer software that tells you when to buy and when to sell. They bought XP in 2/20.
The stock went to over $50 twice in 2021, they didn't sell. It is now back down to $34,
and they bought at $35.20. Why didn't their software say to sell? I made a good profit on it twice.
When I see things like this I am no longer interested in the long, "I" did this and that webinars, interviews they present by 3 top advisors. After the subscription ends, that will be it for me.
- An occational good read now with matt gone
- Were a better company when matt mccall was there
- Inconsistent information
- Misleading stories
User's recommendation: Interesting to watch, but don't take recommendations too seriously

Verified Reviewer |Refused refund
I got a subscription to the Power Portfolio Reloaded 2021 and I ask a refund due to the horrible performance of the Portfolio which make me loose a lot of money.
At such end, I ask for a refund of the subscription as a gesture of apologies to have lied during the presentation of such Portfolio and for the bad work they did in advising 12 failing stocks.
- Reputable firm would refund a product when the person leaves
Preferred solution: Full refund
User's recommendation: do not buy anything from this service
Will Not Cancel Subscription After Several Requests
I do not even remember signing up for the "subscription" but Investorplace keeps charging my credit card $49.00. I call their Customer Service and the agent is always very nice and assures me that they will cancel AND credit my card.
But when the next statement arrives, the $49.00 appears again. The credit card provider is of no help (Legendary Pine with Comenity Bank).
I also tried emailing the email given on the Investorplace website for contact to have documentation of my request. Every time my email is returned as "undeliverable." So the email provided on their website is useless.
- Will not refund
- But it keeps coming
- Will not cancel will not refund
Preferred solution: Full refund
User's recommendation: Be very careful. Do not do any business with Investorplace.

Verified ReviewerUnethical Practices
Earlier this year I purchased a "life-long" membership for Matt McCalls Inner Circle. Mr.McCall is no longer with InvestorPlace.
I now have services for Luke Lango. I did not purchase his services.
I was extremely happy with Matt McCall. I was refused a refund for my "lifelong" membership of Matt's Inner Circle that lasted 4 months!

Verified ReviewerCompany Has No Integrity
I signed up for 2 newsletters. Both were with Matt McCall.
I liked Early Stage Investor and Investment Opportunities. I liked his Early Stage Investor enough that I bought a lifetime subscription. Then Matt leaves 6 months later. When I called them several times to explain that I had subscribed to Matt McCall.
The only thing they would offer was a credit for other letters.
No refund. Pathetic

In light of your refusal to refund the $1,799 you charged for your material...which I attempted repeatedly to cancel in light of the appalling nature of your business tactics and the HUNDREDS of complaint letters on file with numerous consumer advocate groups, I have filed protests with the Better Business Bureau, and 2 others to date. In addition to publishing the reviews, they all recommend contacting the company...providing at least one of the reviews, which I will try to send despite my limited computer skills.
Beyond that, however, I raise the question with you: HOW, DO YOU JUSTIFY peddling investments by a man ..Louis Navellier, WHO WAS PROSECUTED SUCCESSFULLY BY THE SEC, AND CONVICTED IN JUNE, 2020, OF "DEFRAUDING THEIR ADVISORY CLIENTS AND PROSPECTIVE CLIENTS THROUGH THE USE OF MARKETING MATERIALS THAT INCLUDED FALSE AND MISLEADING STATEMENTS..." CONSEQUENTLY $30 million IN FINES WERE LEVIED AGAINST LAVELLIER & ASSOCIATES.
And his prior bad acts go back even further! Is the keen edge of conscience so blunted in you people that you have lost all sense of shame???

Verified ReviewerI signed up for two Investor place newsletters a big mistake
Both talked about how wonderful they were and Mr. Frye was my first one and I knew I could cancel but I could not believe that the stuff they sent me was like a zero and I sent numerous requests to cancel and thought it was done.
Then I signed up with Matt Maccall and all he did was brag but I thought sounds good. The newsletters did not arrive and what I did get was worthless.
Preferred solution: Price reduction

Verified ReviewerInvestorPlace is a scam,
As of this today, 4/26/21, InvestorPlace has agreed to a full refund.
I started to get a bad feeling, especially when the material did not show up on my computer, I called again and was told it would show. IT DID NOT! At this point I started doing on-line research and found over 200 complaints against INVESTORPLACE, for everything from manipulating their stock portfolio to fraud. Then I began looking into LOUIS NAVILLER and I REALLY got scared.
Navellier was investigated by the SEC beginning in 2017 and a final judgment by the court in 2020 fined him and his firm $30 million for fraud, misleading statements and defrauding customers. I got back on the phone the same evening and tried to void any involvement with InvestorPlace. They gave me a different phone number to call the next day which I did and was told I could not get a refund because I had already "subscribed." I pointed out I was NOT a subscriber since I had never received their material. They still refused a refund.
So now I have filed complaints with several consumer advocate groups, and will fight the charge when.
it shows up on my credit card. But most of all, I am appalled that a convicted felon heads up InvestorPlace and presents himself as a trustworthy stock advisor.

Verified ReviewerMisleading sales promotion & refund refusal
I bought hyping a report on the best cyrpto/altcoins to buy now along with a sample portfolio, max prices to buy, and a subscription for 12 months of the newest and best recommendations as they arise. In fact, the report was out of date and all of its recommendations were already trading at way more than the "buy up to" price, making them useless.
Then, when Matt McCall's new recommendations came out a month later, they weren't part of the $1,800 package I paid for. Instead, they were part of a separate $99 subscription to a different service.
In short: tons of hype for an $1,800 product that provides absolutely nothing while it could have been only $99 to get the service that actually has the recommendations.
When I demanded a refund because of the false advertising and failure to deliver as promised, they refused repeatedly with no justification other than it was "against company policy."
- Research ideas on many companies
- Constant attempts to upsell you to additional costly products
- Wont refund
- Failure to deliver promised recommendations
Preferred solution: Full refund
User's recommendation: Do NOT use this service
