Verified ReviewerClaimed Performance Results DO NOT Match Math
- Auspex by Luke Lango claims 10% Jan 2025 gain.
- Jan 2–Feb 4: 2 stocks, equal-weight; +21.75% and -14.47%, +3.64%.
- No reply from InvestorPlace.
I have recently tried using the Auspex service from Luke Lango at InvestorPlace, which makes a set of month-long recommendations each month. But I noticed (for example) that they claim favorable results which I cannot replicate.
They claim a 10% return (not annualized) for January 2025, for which they recommended two stocks to be held in equal proportion. The January recommendations were published & actionable on January 2nd, and the close/sell for those stocks was February 4th. In a process of assuming the best/lowest purchase price for each stock on January 2nd, and assuming the best/highest sell price on February 4th, one stock had a gain of 21.75% and the other stock lost 14.47%, for an equal-weighted average of a 3.64% gain. I have called and emailed my calculations to InvestorPlace requesting explanation of how they claimed 10% gain on their January 2025 portfolio, with NO explanation in response.
When I tell them I cannot trust their reported and publicized performance, and they can't be bothered to explain the significant discrepancy, it seems that they hope I'll just disappear or give up. I even explained my calculation method and the exact prices I used, in case I had an error in how I calculated the 3.67% best-possible return in comparison to their claimed 10% gain.
User's recommendation: Do not trust their claimed performance, nor expect any explanations.

Verified ReviewerResolved: InvestorPlace is a Fraud and a Scam
- A $49 charge appeared on my credit card; I did not subscribe.
- Calls to support go unanswered; offices are closed, and email is unresponsive.
Company fixed the issue and I have been provided with apology.
I never subscribed to anything from this company, but a $49 charge shows up on my credit card statement. The credit card charge is fake.
I have called several times to talk to a customer representative, but no one picks up the phone.
A message comes on to inform me that the offices are closed, and their email is not responsive. I will try a few more times; after that, I will cancel my credit card and deal with the nonsense that follows from a cancelled credit card.
User's recommendation: Stay away from this scam.
